ME1 - ME2 Character Import (PS3)

I own ME1 as a downloaded game from the PSN. I own ME2 on a disk (Region 1 or something? The guys at EA that I've called in that past (yay for 2 seperate 4 hour calls!) said the little box on the side of the corner tells me the region or something)

I have beaten ME1. Under SAVED DATA UTILITY there is a file with my Playthrough Records.

I have uninstalled and deleted everything, then re-installed everything related to ME2 in order to try and fix this problem. I can confirm that i have installed the latest patch avalible on the PS3.

Yet every time i check in the ME2 menu, under New Game, Import ME1 Character, (Checking Saved Data) nothing appears.

I then asked a reddit forum on some other methods i could use. They introduced me to tutorial on editing the save file to include my choices. everything was set up, but i couldn't copy ANY Mass Effect data onto a USB. Just Mass Effect. Every single one of my other games i could, just not anything ME related.

I now realize that I'm cursed.

So if there are any warlocks or witches out there who can break this evil hex, i would be grateful. So grateful I'd give you a High Five, AND one Down Low.
