ME1: Unlocking weapon ability?

Hello,

I've tried to find an answer to this by google searches but can't find a conclusive answer. What exactly do I need to do to unlock assault rifle as a bonus power in ME1? I keep seeing different ideas:

*Master the skill on any squad mate (No go)

*Kill 75 enemies with PC using AR (No go)

*Kill 150 enemies as above (No go)

*Use AR ability with squad 25 times (No go)

*Finish the game with a soldier.

Anyone actually unlocked AR as bonus power and can tell me what I need to do? Important for me as I cant build the characters I want to without bonus weapon skills in me1 =)

    @CharlieEsra As far as I am aware, your weapon "abilities" are determined by your class in ME1. What class did you play as? I was unaware you could unlock bonus weapons in ME1. In ME2 you can unlock one during a mid-game mission.

    Weapon bonuses can be awarded as bonus powers in ME. I am able to get sniper rifle skills as a bonus power in ME1 for my engineer char but the other weapon classes are unavailable.

    The only achievement I know that unlocks bonus weapon skills is the Medal of Honor (complete the game on any difficulty).

    I don't know if it specifically unlocks assault rifles. Maybe they forgot about it?

    @CharlieEsra Oh! You mean for a second Shep. Gotcha. This could be tied to the achievements bug. So, you need to get the AR achievement with one Shep before you can unlock the bonus power for your next character. The bonus power is selected at character creation.

    Thanks. I'm not quite sure if his thing is working correctly for weapons. I've used rifles since Eden prime and halfway through Ilos now without the bonus unlocked, you'd think I'd have killed 150 enemies by now.. If I'm unable to create a vanguard with AR skill after finishing the game I assume its bugged and will have to make do with assault training and shock trooper spec =(

    Those are achievements for the original version.

    Legendary has fewer achievements, changed some of the conditions, and removed a lot of the bonuses (only the companion and skill bonuses remain).

    If you go to Extras, there is a menu where you can see unlocked achievements, and it will tell you the bonus once you've unlocked it (not before, sadly). The achievement for completing the game once should be the one for the weapons, but again, I don't know if assault rifles is included.

    @devSinAh. I just checked. Yes, this achievement, Medal of Honor does unlock AR and SR for all classes as a bonus power.
