ME2 keeps asking to log in every time and lost my save

Hey everybody So I bought the ME trilogy a few years back and played them all and had no issues during. I uninstalled them a while ago and decided to replay the whole trilogy now since we're all loc...

    @M3asher98 

    OK, that config file looks fine.

    Try this please: (It is different from the last one.)

    Press the Windows key and "X" at the same time > Click on "Command prompt (Administrator)" or "PowerShell (Administrator)"

    • In the CMD or PowerShell window, at the prompt type or copy and paste:  takeown /F "xxxxxxxxxxxx" /R  (With the quotes. Replace the X with the full path to the C:\Users\>your user name<\Documents. folder.) > hit "ENTER"

    • Reboot.
    • Test.

    If that is also not working:

    • Create a new Windows user account. (Administrator account! Don't use special characters in the Username for that account.)
    • Reboot > Log on to the new account > Test.

@holger1405 I tried all of those
1 Repair didn't give me any indication that something was wrong
2 I've had Origin Ingame disabled for years so that's not it
3 I don't have or use MS Onedrive so that's not it either
4 I turned on Controlled folder access, but every time I played before I never had to switch it on
5 I ran both as Administrator

Conclusion: Still nothing, no saves or resume game and it still gives me the "Log in to Cerberus Network" thing every time I start the game. I'm thinking about uninstalling and deleting all game files and reinstalling. Unless there is anything else I can try to do?

Turn it off again. It can only be a problem if it is on.

The standard save directory is "C:\Users\>your user name<\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 2\Save."

Are the Save files present under this location?

If not search your system for files with the file extension *.pcsav.

(Open the Windows Explorer > select "This PC" >  Copy and paste *.pcsav into the search field.)

    @holger1405 I turned it back off, still nothing
    I searched around for the save but couldn't find anything related to ME2 so I uninstalled the game and am now reinstalling it, hopefully it works this time.
    I dont know why this and the Cerberus Network log in thing is happening this time, last time I played through the whole trilogy with no problem

      It's crazy how many issues I've had with ME2, let's list them:

      1) I keep getting the "hardware not supported message". Opened "Nvidia control panel" and switched "Preferred graphics processor" from 'Auto Select' to 'High-Performance NVIDIA processor'. That one worked fine

      BUT THEN

      2) Every time I start the game I have to manually log in to EA Online for the Cerberus Network for my DLC, tried starting it switching "auto-login" off then exiting the game, opening again and switching it back on. Nothing worked

      3) This one needs a little backstory, I played a bit of ME2 2 nights ago, got to Eden Prime then saved and exited, yesterday I started the game and no save, no "load save", no "resume game", nothing, it's like I was starting the game for the first time. And I'm worried that if I do play again the same thing will happen and I won't be able to make any progress

      I have the trilogy on Origin and played through them a while back with absolutely zero issues

      I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling ME2 but the problems are still there

      I've tried running the game as administrator

      I tried Repair

      I tried installing the game to both C and D drive and it hasn't made a difference either

      Nothing has worked with me

      I'm on windows 10 

      I've tried almost every solution and fix I could find for problems 2 and 3 and nothing has worked

      It's honestly disheartening when I've spent 24 hours trying to find a way to play my favorite ever game and nothing is working, I'm seriously considering just uninstalling the trilogy and giving up at this point

      Would appreciate any help

      PS I posted last night about it but I thought I'd make another to explain a little clearer

        I merged your post into your old thread.

        This is probably a permissions problem.

        Press the Windows key and "X" at the same time > Click on "Command prompt (Administrator)" or "PowerShell (Administrator)"

        • Reboot.
        • Shut down your Antivirus real time scanner.
        • Test.
