ME2 won`t launch anymore after PC crashed

Hey there ⭐

As the the title says ME2 will not launch anymore.

I was playing ME2, crash and now it seems as if ME2 isn`t existent on this PC anymore. What I get is a Event ID 1000 Application Error.

When I try to launch the game it seems to try to launch by brings me then right back to origins.

I`ve tried deleting and reinstalling ME2 more than once but that didn`t do anything.

I know my PC has issues but if maybe someone could help me get some more insight I`d be very grateful.

I`ve attached a DxDiag maybe that might help. For all the TechnoWizards here some palm reading 🙂 You all are really amazing.

Thank you in advance for your help.

It is very much appreciated.

So long.

  • @PhosphorGypsum;  Noticed that you have an Intel HD4600 GPU listed in your dxdiag report. Maybe after the crash/rebuild you rig is defaulting to using that instead of your nVidia card?  Take a look and be sure things are set to use the GTX 770, either through the nVidia Control Panel or the BIOS, depending on your particular machine.

(Question: Is this a laptop?  Don't usually see two GPUs in a desktop unless they're being used in X-Fire/SLI mode, but I didn't know the GTX 770 was even available for a laptop.)

  • I did run the System File Checker.

Unless I did it completely wrong, the message said there isn`t any integrity corruption. Or `Der Windows-Ressourcenschutz hat keine Integritätsverletzung gefunden` since it`s in german.

I`ve got such problems with this rig, I might better send it in for some serious maintenance. So far it refused to execute a windows update, nvidia update and Dragon Age: Inquisition is giving me short black screens while the game is playing in the background.

I`m not at all surprised it wouldn`t download ME2 anymore. You could actually see it struggle downloading ME2 where it hasn`t had before when I tried to reinstall it again.

For all it`s worth, thank you for taking your time🙂

    @ThandalNLyman

    It`s not a laptop.

I`ve disable the Intel HD4600 a while ago right because it caused to crash my games all the time.

And I did as you suggested but the pc was already set to use the GTX770 all along.

You "disabled" the HD4600 how? As it's being reported by dxdiag, it still "exists" and is accessible to Windows.

"Disable" is what I thought I did. I only deactivated it. Got rid of the crashing then.

The HD4600 is uninstalled now and doesn`t show up in the dxdiag anymore.

So, does the game start for you now, or not?

(Hoping the former, willing to continue helping if the latter.)
