ME3 Multiplayer: gained xp and levels keep disappearing randomly

I will be playing one or more missions online in a row, and one of two things might happen where the xp, levels and powers chosen all are lost:

1) When i exit out of the mission screen to the character select screen

2) when a game starts loading, then sits on "communicating" for like 3 minutes, then goes to "waiting for other players", then finally says "you were kicked".

This is really frustrating and shows origin or ME3 have serious issues that make me want to stop playing.  I've never run into a multiplayer where my levels and even the things i purchased with those levels just disappear like this. 

No i dont have a slow connection.  Its cable, tests up to 12MB fine, router shows no collisions or bounced requests during gameplay.
