ME3 PC - Crash/hard lock going into Engineering and Cargo Bay
I first noticed this issue pop up where the game would just freeze, and I'd have to kill the process. This was after Priority: Palaven, but before Priority: Sur'Kesh. It locked up one time, and after that behaved normally.
Now, after Priority: Sur'Kesh, I literally cannot set foot on the Engineering floor or the Cargo Bay. The CIC and Shepard's cabin are fine. The game will freeze like before, but instead of requiring me to kill the process myself, it hard crashes. Sometimes it crashes back to the launcher, and sometimes it crashes the launcher as well. I have no idea why this is happening, but any support would be appreciated.
Edit: Forgot to mention that I've already tried validating my files on steam. It downloaded four files, and the problem persisted.
Edit 2: Uninstalling and reinstalling did nothing, either.
To actually document my steps of how to nuke your Origin folders (since this bug happened to me again! what the hell?):
1. Enable hidden items in Windows Explorer
2. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Origin.
3. Delete everything in this Origin folder EXCEPT LocalContent
4. Enter LocalContent, then delete the folder for Mass Effect Legendary Edition
5. Navigate to C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData.
6. Enter Roaming, then delete the Origin folder.
7. Go up a level to AppData, then enter Local.
8. Delete the Origin folder in there, too.
9. Restart your PC.
This has fixed my issue with the crash/lock twice now. I have no idea why it gets messed up to the point where it requires this solution, but it does work (at least for me). YMMV. If Steam or Origin says it found local data newer than what's in your cloud saves, upload the local data.
