Well as much as we dislike certain characters, ME is the kind of game that thrives on character development, hours of planning, scripts, animations go into creating just one character, if they allow hiring and firing of the crew, the game will change, and it will be like a XCom rather than ME. There's always the option of ignoring Cora if you dont like her, dont speak with her. Dont use her on your missions. I personally dislike addison, so if a quest requires me to speak with her I will just press skip all the way to the end and press goodbye.

It seems to me that a lot of work has gone into the Companion story lines/loyalty missions. I guess they would be hesitant to have to make more of these just so people can throw them out. In the end they want to make content that people actually use.
So if you want replaceable companions, would you then accept that the companion missions would be scrapped or a lot shorter/simpler? Cause in the end I think what you want will have as a consequence that the companions will have to take the back seat more in the game. I see it as a choice between quality and quantity, since I don't expect we'll still get the same level of quality if they'd go for higher numbers of companions.- Anonymous9 years ago
Quality wins ! They already struggle enough to give chars and romances depth.
