Missing ME3 Savegames

First off this is about Mass Effect 3 savegames, so this is not an importing question.

After purchasing the new Citadel DLC I had decided to check up on how far through my second and final ME3 playthough was only to find out it was missing.  I checked the C:\Users\[my name]\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 3 folder only to find my saves missing.

The only interaction I've had with Origin and ME3 is the occasional game of multiplayer and I had a friend log log on and play ME3 from his account.

If this wasnt the cause then I may have just deleted the savegame from the in-game menu but I still can't find out where deleted savegames go.

  • Thats what I was afraid of too, thanks for the recommendaiton, Im trying it now.

Lost my saves too. I had my saved games since the release of Mass Effect 3, including all DLCs such as Omega. I wanted to play Citadel today, but got an error message that the saved games are not synchronized or something like this. The date on my local machine was newer than the one on the EA cloud. So I chose my local machine. The game started crashing on start up. After some reading online, I found out that the crash was related to Local_Profile.sav being 0 KB, and mine was. After deleting the file, the game would start normally. But now I lost the last game's profile including the latest saved games.

Also noticed that Origin's support chat wating time is 60+ minutes. I wonder is something went wrong on EA side, and if it's still possible to recover my saved games?

EDIT: I'm not really sure if my problem was related to yours or not, but I solved mine by deleting all the old profiles from Mass Effect 3 dir, leaving only the latest one, by file date. Now I can load it in the game, and got it synced with Origin clound too.

Try to load them from the cloud use restore saves.

I had the same problem like you, but the cloud restore had a problem which managed to destroy my saves and restart the game again

I'm afraid, the friend who logged on clicked "overwrite local files" when he logged in with his Origin credentials and overwrote the files on your PC. I'm not sure if you can still recover them from the Origin cloud as those files may have been overwritten with the - now non-existing - local ones, too. You could try the usual unerase-programs to see if something can be recovered from your local hard drive.
