Most "Emotional" Moment For You

Daddy Ryders death for many reasons.. and the memory unlocks that followed.

When I bought the game and launched the opening screen....  I was filled with emotion cause I waited so long for a mass effect game...  I yearn to once again feel the way I felt when I played the ME trilogy...  it went downhill from there lolol...  kidding...  half kidding...  ok not really kidding, dont get me wrong it's a good game but I do have high expectations due to it being a mass effect game.

Anyway my few moments of wow was Alec Ryder's sacrifice.  Makes me want to play him rather than his kid.  Awesome awesome, man amongst men!!  Then for the next 100 hrs am stuck with his kid....  

Then it was the first time I called down the troops and formed the first colony Podromos... The scene with the shuttles flying in...  the sense of accomplishment...  until Auggie gave the speech about staying out of people's grief...  and then there's Hainly Abrams...

Then it there was this scene at the nexus bar...  with a rubber in my pocket I am finally going to score with Keri...  It's gonna happen...  woohoo am gonna score an asari that doesnt look like a raccoon. Next scene...  Errrr....  Why am I standing in front of a door...  what happened??  What??  That quick??  Did I have a premature ejaculation moment??  Hey it's Ryder's fault not mine...

Yup plenty of moments that brought out different kinds of emotions...

Yeah, this is definitely my third.

Although, for me Alec's sacrifice didn't move me as much as I might have expected.  I think because that type of "moment" in games has been done so many times.  If you are invested in the ME trilogy, it's probably different.  Not having that investment, this was more of a cliche moment for me.  Either that or I've become a cold, heartless ******.  🙂

funny, i usually spent a lot of time roaming around my ship in all 4 mass effect games, andromeda included. made me actually feel like the ship's captain or something.

2 scenes huh? well... 

i guess the 100% viability on all planets party was pretty high up there for me.

watching the archon fry was pretty good too. the cause of death is not "Pathfinder"... lol, made me chuckle.

Yup it is cliche, but There isnt really one of those huge moments for me in the game and being a father myself I can relate to the whole parental sacrifice thing.  Always liked a Man's Man type character rather than the sensitive new age type character.  So it appeals to me.

The real emotional Mass Effect moments for me were probably the following: ME3 the scene when the reapers hit earth and shepard had to force himself to leave earth to seek help...  the destruction, knowing what shepard was about you feel his pain, frustration and internal conflict...  Then that music plays... oh gosh...  haunts me till this day...

The liberation of Rannoch, especially if Tali's your love interest.  To be able to give the love of your life back her home planet...  I felt like a GOD!!!  

Thane's last moments praying for you rather than himself...  Defeating Kai Leng felt so much better than the Archon...  

ME2 coming back to the Normandy after it's been boarded by the collectors, ships empty...  Launching the rescue mission, finally normandy blasting the hell out of the collector flag ship.  Saving the crew of the normandy from the collectors...  then fighting with the crew all the way till the end...   Layers and waves of emotions all the way to climax.

That's the kind of emotion that is lacking in MEA....  The final scene in meridian is ok...  Still prefer the ME2 ending sequence though.

I don't think this was meant as a hero story but more a coming of age/team building story... so I didn't expect the same feel you got from the original series. If the new age heroic tale formula is overcome obstacles by following the command prompts in your head and arguing, both before and after you make decisions, I will be severely disappointed.

I don't mind that Ryder asks for or gets unsolicited input a lot before he makes decisions. While a change in style from the first series, both methods of team management are used in the real world and it is new instead of old school. It gets you a better invested flexible team in the end with better solutions. I hope this is the team building/coming of age portion of any series and the rest you get to use either this one or functional teams from the start. They also might want to either lighten up on the negative feedback or allow you to argue your point back again post decisions since this is supposed to be fun and not a RL exercise in middle management. That took the highs off any achievements for me.

Emotional moments, for me, were when I could feel for other people. Jaal got way more of his share of those since the game sticks him bad. Twice. Cora got it too. Lots and lots of individual tales of people who had big dreams and worldviews that Andromeda crushed. Why we all don't end up the game bitter, jaded, angry cynics... the game is bittersweet, at best, since it allows you to rescue at least some of those dreams.

For me it's gotta be the last Audio log from a certain Asari. Just hearing about the old crew got to me a little 

1) Alecs last memory, because it shows Castis Vakarian and he mentions Garrus and Shepard. I am a Shakarian girl and this came out of the sudden for me. Also it was special, because of Garrus and his father not having a close relationship and I always wondered how things went between ME2 and ME3. Garrus tells Shepard that he talked to his father to get support against the Reapers. 


2) Meridian. I loved the final battle, although the bossfight is kind of disappointing. But the whole thing around it. Meridian itself, all the help and support that arrives and the feeling of finally REALLY fighting for a new home and survival.

I am a little of both -

I am a parent and I would like to think the idea of going on without my child would be so heartbreaking that I would endanger myself for her safety.

But I am also the daughter of a father who has had next to nothing to do with me my whole life- I am pretty sure he has no love for me but there is always that small part that hopes I am wrong. I will probably never find out - but to find out that way, him dying for me to know he does care. I have some idea how the son/daughter in that situation would feel as well.

So yeah, for me it was a rather touching and emotional scene on many counts, as were some of the family revelations that followed.

Plus I could just imagine how worried after everything, the twin still standing would have been at the thought they could yet loose the one in a coma, leaving them completely alone. I found there to be plenty of feels all around for me.

The game hasn't made me emotional in any moment, actually. I'm VERY difficult to convince when it comes to emotional moments and it requires good ambiance and development.

I could select just 2, and they were brief:

• Talking with Drack about his health: that conversation is somewhat touching. You simply put too much store on Drack, as if he's immortal, everlasting, unbreakable. Then you have that conversation that lays himself bare in front of you, and then you are caught trying to prove you were right, whilst dawning something else.
• You see the other Pathfinders aiding you in the last push: it feels good when you see people you helped lending their hands in return, each with their own specialty. It boosts a sense of accomplishment and friendship, bonds of trust. Other appearances during that scene also boosted that sentiment.

On the other hand, even watching my sibling being electrocuted didn't spark a single emotion. Nor dad kicking the bucket, or Addison's face tired. It's almost as leveled as ME1. I also didn't felt much of losing Ash. But losing Kaidan or Wrex would impact me much. Also, the Salarian speech was sort of nice and reading the first wail of despair from EDI gave a pang of guilt.
