I also encountered this bug and attempted to complete the Movie Night quests "in order as they normally appear" and when you get to the point to get the popcorn from Kadara interacting with the merchant will make the game think you bought the Legion movie and give you two Movie Night quest entries: The Better Snacks portion for Vetra and the Final Piece portion for Liam.
I haven't talked to Liam yet out of fear of "accidentally completing it early" and am waiting to see if I get the next steps of this quest.
Can also confirm this affects certain quests that involve developing upgrades for the Nomad as the upgrades carry over, so even though the blueprint unlocks in the Development menu the upgrade will not apply since it already exists on the Nomad. So much for a 100% NG+ playthrough.... T_T
I think the Nomad upgrade task is bugged even in the first playthough, or at least it was in mine and many other people's. So it may not have anything to do with NG+.
Have the same issue. Have tried to speak to Lexi after patching the game (1.05, april 6 2017), seems like it didn't fix this bug.

Quick question, after 1.05 installed did you start a NG+ or did you launch a game saved in 1.04 when 1.05 installed?
This would help them know if the patch didn't scrub your save game, or if it's still carrying over quest items upon starting a NG+Load saved game.
I started a fresh New Game + and played till the landing of Habitat 7. The Inventory still showed all the special quest items, so i assume some of those quests will continue to be bugged.
Same thing happened to me although I hadn't spoke to Liam about movie night before Lexi's quest dialogue triggered. Quest showed up in my journal as "the final piece" When I spoke to Liam after talking to Lexi, he talked about the original movie that's the final part of the questline and now that has shown up in my journal. I haven't been to Kadara yet
Well I had already started a NG+ before the update and after the update I spoke with Lexi and I gave her a bottle of Akantha. So I reloaded the save right before talking with her and am avoiding her. Unfortunately, people are saying Jaal is bugged to and this is my Sara romance Jaal playthrough so I'm kind of down.
Having this issue to.. All the movie night items still in my inventory and if I talk to anyone involved it starts the quest..
