Have the same issue. Have tried to speak to Lexi after patching the game (1.05, april 6 2017), seems like it didn't fix this bug.

Quick question, after 1.05 installed did you start a NG+ or did you launch a game saved in 1.04 when 1.05 installed?
This would help them know if the patch didn't scrub your save game, or if it's still carrying over quest items upon starting a NG+
Load saved game.
I started a fresh New Game + and played till the landing of Habitat 7. The Inventory still showed all the special quest items, so i assume some of those quests will continue to be bugged.
Same thing happened to me although I hadn't spoke to Liam about movie night before Lexi's quest dialogue triggered. Quest showed up in my journal as "the final piece" When I spoke to Liam after talking to Lexi, he talked about the original movie that's the final part of the questline and now that has shown up in my journal. I haven't been to Kadara yet
The super easy fix would be to let us delete special items from the inventory. They already remain in the shops' lists and research interface so even if someone deletes something useful by mistake they can just get it again. I completely stopped my NG+ now because of this quest, I basically can't talk to anyone on my ship.
Did anyone try to power through all the same and manage to complete the ten thousand iterations of this quest that spawn from talking to people? I would think it impossible as the game would probably recognize that you completed an objective already.
Well I had already started a NG+ before the update and after the update I spoke with Lexi and I gave her a bottle of Akantha. So I reloaded the save right before talking with her and am avoiding her. Unfortunately, people are saying Jaal is bugged to and this is my Sara romance Jaal playthrough so I'm kind of down.
Having this issue to.. All the movie night items still in my inventory and if I talk to anyone involved it starts the quest..
Any news on a temporary workaround? Also has anyone checked the 'Flower for Kesh' quest? Cause I'm also infected by this NG+ bug with special items remaining in inventory. Funny however despite having all 18 collectible ship models only some of them showed up in Pathfinder quarter. Shows you how buggy this whoe SJW mess is.
