Multiplayer for Legendary Edition?

Since there are more rumors about the Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster (supposedly to be called "Legendary Edition" are coming up there was also some news about the multiplayer to not be included into it. Is that a joke or just not true?

It is 2020 now, imagine, there has been a small multiplayer in a mainly single player game from 2012 and people are still playing it actively up to this date, including myself. EA and BioWare should check it out themselves. Running the online services for MEMP doesn't require much server resources as the lobbies are being hosted on clients PCs anyway. So that can't be an excuse, the MP part of the game is rather small and consisted of many recycled maps from the MP (which can be seen in those small side missions of ME3 - Same maps as MP maps). It shouldn't take too much effort for Bioware to remaster it, as the control and skill system is already in the SP. Please don't embarass the MP community, there are many people enjoying the MP and its endless possibilities and the sheer fact that you can play as Asari or Krogans - One aspect of it I really liked and I always hoped to see ME3 in MEA style graphics and better controls (no annoying spacebar - Actually that spacebar is the reason why some people stopped trying to play it with me though they liked the game itself).

Now its up to you. Some people would most likely even boycott it, just care for the MP as you care for the SP, make Mass Effect great again! After all I have to admit that the MEAMP wasn't so bad after all either, it just lacks content and gets boring quicker than ME3. More content in the remaster MP would be even better and could lead to future Mass Effect experiences. Instead of turning your forums off (like Bioware), you should return to the old path of hearing and caring for your communities wishes - They are the people buying your products and funding your jobs. If you embarass the customers and then turn your back to them, they will not ever buy again. Thats how it works. I really wish the Mass Effect IP could become as big as it used to be in the early 2010s within this decade again.

Also, Kheelah Se'Lai! We'll meet on the homeworld.

I'm a bit late to this and my opinion is probably not going to be received that well, but while I feel they shouldn't ignore the multiplayer component of Mass Effect 3, I think it may be better if they first remaster that as well (graphical improvements, implement proper controller support, server improvements, etc.) and release it later as a free update.

In my opinion, Mass Effect 3's multiplayer is an underappreciated gem so in the long run they'd be shooting themselves in the foot not including it at some point. It survived until 2021 and has a dedicated player-base.

    This...

Shepherd would say ‘if you’re new here’ then your opinion matters the most...

(not clone Shepherd- the other one).

  • I am very late to this party, but with the "possibility" of Multiplayer being added, I'm posting around to make my will known (and hoping like-minded people do the same).

ME3 multiplayer is (as in currently, in 2021) one of the best multiplayer experiences I know. Is it perfect? No. It's grindy and repetitive and I still love it (200h in 2013, 40 hours and counting in 2021. It aged well).

I would like to see a remaster just to have an active development team pushing out content. Whether It's standalone game or part of LE, does not matter to me.

The Single Player is one of my favorite narrative experiences, with a combat system unrivaled in It's satisfying gameplay. The multiplayer is the combat system cranked up to 11, and I would love to see it receive some extra attention in a new multiplayer experience. Idk what went wrong with Andromeda MP. It looks great on paper but something feels off when I play it. Keeping that original ME3 MP feel will be important.

I'm sure many of you have seen this by now, but just in case, two items:

    1) Dev tease about MP could possibly be included get people excited:

    https://www.pcgamer.com/mass-effect-legendary-edition-project-director-says-multiplayer-could-make-a-comeback/

To me this is just non-answer corporate double-talk, i.e. "not closing the door, but if you all buy the game now ..."

    and

    2) (Honestly, I hate to propagate these click-bait rumors, but I admit I'm stoked) ...

"Insider" rumor that it is more imminent than one might think.

    https://gamerant.com/mass-effect-legendary-edition-multiplayer-leak/

The community seems to be of two minds:

    A) buy now to show "support" (more $ in house means they have more clout to convince overlords)

    B) don't buy to show that, for you, MP support is a must.  And be vocal about it to let them know what it takes to get your $

By the way I worded it, you can probably tell I'm firmly on Team B
