Multiple Character save game selection ?

Mass Effect Andromeda : Am I allowed to have multiple save game characters ? Like was done in all other ME games ?

As I find this answer is being skirted by all Google searches I have tried.   Even the reviewers seem to avoid answering this question.

I find it very dirty of Origin to not allow this, as all other ME games have allowed me to have multiple character save games, and swap between them as I desired, at any time.

I hope this is not another console caused problem.. I like trying different character, both female, and male, and different looks, and choices, and swapping between them for trying new or different idea's.

I think it is very Sleazy if this is not possible, as the save game folder can easy be copied, and pasted to save it, but that requires that the person be pretty computer knowledgeable, And one is always concerned about being banned, and having all your games taken by the ones that truly own them (Origin Server ), as we really never own the game, and are subject to any reason the owners decide to stop our being able to play it at any time.

We are slaves to the whim of the makers. Thank god book's don't do that yet. "you read that chapter to early, so we have removed the book from your library"

So am I able to make multiple character save games ?

  • When on the main menu screen, select the option to start a new game.

It will not overwrite your current game and character.

You cannot name your new character with an existing firstname.

To delete a character, just delete all the saves inside of it.

    Regards.

I did this and my other Character was gone. I had backed up my save folder, is only way I still had the first character.

first one was named Kimberly Ryder, second one was named Kim Ryder, only one left was the second one.

  • Also there was only the save folder, there was no other folders as was done in Origin's, and earlier Bioware games. It was like DAI just the one folder, and all the saves were mixed up, no Order to them at all.

Are you sure? On top of the screen in the load menu you should see two arrows to change characters. If it doesn't work it's a bug, I have two characters and can access them both separately.

I checked, and re checked, and character was wiped out, Only managed to save because I had foresight to save the save game folder.

Holy *, thank the reapers it didn't happen to me cause I wasn't as smart as you and didn't save them. I'm gonna do it immediately.

  • Yes, you can. I made two Scotts (one for the trial, one for my first complete playthrough) and the second one's saves were named Scott1. I than made a John and I can select which save I can load.

I can confirm that I have 2 characters that I have at various stages of the game and I can swap between them without issue.

The save system should be basically the same as DAI's, there's a big save folder with some unintuitively named files. Inside the game itself you should be able to swap between characters, then their individual saves. Do you use any cloud saves/play from 2 locations? If so perhaps your cloud saves overwrote for your new character overwrote your local ones.

If you make a new character and save now do you see the arrows in the images below?

I just grabbed these images from the load screen.

    Thank you.

  •    I will back up my save folder, and give it another try, I have been afraid to, after losing that one, or rather I just started playing the game, and decided not to test it, again at this time.

can two saved profiles also be done on Xbox One? I don't want to do a second playthrough if the first will be wiped away...
