My saves have vanished.

I attempted to access my single player campaign for the first time in a month. At the time I was playing end game content with Ryder after my first play-through. Every save has vanished. I've followed your recommended path (on these forums and others like it) in recovering the saves but they've literally vanished. They are not in C:\Users\xxxxx\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Andromeda . I've un-installed and re-installed. My entire first play-though is gone.

just in case.. go to C:\Users\<yourusername>\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Andromeda\Save

    and look in there.

As this will be profile specific you need to rule out the possibility that you've somehow launched in a temp user profile which can occur if you get a bit of user profile corruption.

worth checking, however futile the possibility.

If you are playing your game via origin then one last thing to try?

In Origin go into your game library and right click on your Mass Effect Andromeda and select 'Game Properties'.You will see 3 tab options but  there is a tab labelled 'Cloud Storage'". There is an button that says  "Restore save". Maybe you'll have some luck with this?

I will warn you though, i've seen a number of posts of late where people have not had luck even with this .. and in some cases some people even reported on this very forum saying they seemed to have someone elses save data?  weird.

Either way though, when you feel you are out of options.. surely this is your last hope.  I feel for ya :/   I've 'today' backed up all my saves just in case this kind of thing happens to me.. if it happens to more than 2 people, i take heed of such warnings.

Good luck, let me know how you get on.

I have ONE last hot idea.. but it is dependent on whether you have got this feature enabled in your OS or not...or even if your OS version supports it.  I am on WIndows 10 Home Creators edition, can't remember what other OS's had it natively.

Go into your documents folder where your saves are so that you can just see the saves folder

On mine its in: C:\Users\me\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Andromeda

So in there you should be able to see Saves, Screenshots and Temp

Right Click on Saves and then select Properties...

On the properties window for 'Saves', see if you have a previous versions tab.   click on it if you do.

In the folder versions part of the 'previous versions' window, you should see if you are lucky (and i stress lucky) any previous version saves of that folder.

YOu can then use the OPEN button to look at your previous Saves folder if you had one.

TRY THAT.   FINGERS CROSSED FOR YOU!

Thx again. I've already tried that method with no results. I've never had a developer/publisher wipe my save data before. This is a first. I feel like they owe me something now.

    Rare indeed.

Still puzzles me personally though, why people STILL do not make regular backups on PC. With Win10 all you'd need to is enable File History and you'd be set (user profile files are automatically included).

For console users this is a bigger issue if cloud saves go missing.
