New Game + ...how does it work exactly?

So I have finished the game to the point where "new game+" is now an option when I go to start a new game, however when I click on this I'm not given the option to create a new character or even remake the character I finished my play thru on. All I'm seeing is a list of every single save I made or the game autosaved during the play thru. So, how does New Game + actually work? How do I create a new character in this mode? Will it only work if I use a Default Sara/Scott Ryder character? Have I encountered a bug with new game +?? I did start a new character who has no save options like my original character does (adding a screenshot to this post of what I see when I click on NG+ in the options) so I got even more confused/frustrated at how i'm supposed to use this NG+ option. Any feedback or help with this is greatly appreciated

Edit: so the list of saves I see when I click on new game plus isn't even every single save I or the game made. Started my first play thru back at the beginning of April when I bought the game yet the saves I see in this list (like the ones you see in the pic linked with this) only go back as far as May 6th ...which makes this even more confusing to me.

  • why would you even want to use an older save? but to star the new game plus just select a save and hit load it will than give you the option to setup your new character.

Architect get much easier on lower difficulties when you use the biotic reflecting shield. I ran a normal new game and maxed all biotic and started using the shield some and it was extremely effective. I don't know how it will fair on Insanity NG+ that I carried it over too, but we will see.

you're talking about those giant 3-legged Remnant that end up floating around the planet when we defeat them? If so, love those fights. Only had one give me any real trouble ...the one on Voeld, because even after you fix the planet the area you fight him is still a  Hazard level 2 zone and you can't always be inside the safe building area to fully fight him. Other than this one, I had no issues with any of them. I just swapped thru my fav'd profiles during the fights for certains skills and they went down easy peasy

If you are playing mostly Biotic, there aren't a whole bunch of direct damage, long range abilities that work on him.  You, can't lift,  throw, Charge or Annihilation , and Lance or Singularity are only somewhat effective....you are also sometimes limited in what weapons you are dragging along depending on what level you are, and how much you have put into combat to increase it.  So after all this, you end up facing a monster that laughs at most of what you can do, and may not have weapons to really face him with any speed....then you find and use the reflective shield(sorry I don't remember it's real name) and you can stand there and reflect damage back at him....even the annoying grenades he throws by bunches....and basically shoot him at leisure dodging only the massive area attacks.  When the Remanent bots show up as filler, the Nullifiers bolts can be reflected back at them, as well as observers and basically anything that doesn't Melee.  So all in all, this whole battle becomes MUCH easier for a Biotic once the reflective shield is maxed and used.  NO you don't NEED it, but it makes it easier.....well at least on Normal difficulty it does...will find out how well it does in Insanity in a bit more time.

well tbh, I do love my biotics but when fighting an architect I don't use one of my fav'd profiles only because it's purely biotic and I know this profile is best used in other situations. There's no reason for me to charge, nova into a shockwave on an Architect. It's just not that kind of fight. My other profiles are set up with Tech and Combat moreso, though Biotics do factor into two other profiles. I tended to sniper more than use skills ...my skills were more used on the spawn phases than the Architect itself. I may have made the fights go longer but meh, I didn't die on any but the Voeld one due to the environment issue I stated earlier.

One last thing with Architect.. don't forget to interface with it after it dies, run to it's head and use.. you get some decent loot.

First few times I just watched it fly off and didn't even know it dropped loot.
