What state?
That this games are in some kind of "bad state" is a purely subjective opinion and an opinion that is obviously not shared by the majority of the fan base.
For me they are rock stable. I did not encounter any serious bug or glitch apart from the FPS inconsistency in ME1. And even that wasn't a real problem because I did not get shuttering because if it.
So as said, I think they could have and should have done more, but I disagree with the notion that the MELE is in some kind of bad state overall.
I think you are right about the community can be way too harsh, but I disagree with LE's state. I just leave a few things here:
And the list goes on. These are not subjective problems, these are gameplay breaking or ugly, cutscene damaging visual bugs. I know, these are not major game breaking bugs, but that's really an excuse for it? These are bad, immersion breaking bugs, and I think LE (not ME1:LE, that remastered is a really, really great work with much given care) is in a bad state, because the original games cinematic nature, artistic effort and gameplay been damaged by these bugs.
The cinematic nature with great art and the combat gameplay doesn't count for the fan base at all, only the characters/story and romances? Really? Then why they wanted a remastered edition with better visuals, if they do not care enough about the visuals? I really can't understand this community. This Sci-Fi universe (and its legacy) deserves more thant this, from the developers/publisher and the fans too.
And sorry, but I think Covid is not an excuse too. They sell a game in full price, so I think it's completely okay, if we want a very great quality remastered then. I know I'm a big fan who wants way too much and a way too perfect game, but I think ME2-3:LE is in some aspects are feels a less quality product, than the original ME2-3.
