Noveria Tram Bug

So I am playing through Mass Effect, made it to Noveria. I am inside, connected the landlines, and I have restored the power. When I moved onto the tram, I clicked the green button to take the tram to the hot labs. Next thing I know I hear sound but just a black screen. I figured this might be kind of similar to the glitches in 2 and 3 where a save and reload will re-align the game. Well while doing that, my characters are now stuck in a grey/black room and when checking the map they are actually located barely at the bottom of "Noveria: Peak 15 Tram". The blue dots are not on the map. Is there anyway other than loading a previous save to actually fix this issue, or did I kind of fall off the world so to speak?
