@Leora85 Thanks for the reply and it makes sense, however, I'm fairly Tech savvy and I am absolutely sure that I did not accidentally delete it myself. I use the Cloud Save feature because it is a kind of backup for me. I use the feature on XBone and I think it's great.
I was busy doing Legion's loyalty mission and I had left him for second last. Just had Samara then I was off to the final mission. I may have actually had a shot at saving the entire team this time.
The Character that I was playing doesn't even exist anymore in my save Directory. the save game from last year was a completely different character. So I literally lost everything.
The gist that I'm getting from your post though is that even if EA were so inclined they would be unable to recover the last cloud saves. Is this correct?
@Serious_Python You have cloud saves and local saves. If they mismatch, which most often happens if you're playing on a different machine or if you've done something with your local saves (moved them, used a save editor, played offline, not allowed/waited for the cloud upload before closing Origin, etc), when you start the game the Origin client will ask you to sync them, you can choose to either use cloud data or local data, whichever one you choose will overwrite the other, and any lost data is not recoverable unless you have backups, EA can't get lost/overwritten cloud data back.
It is, unfortunately, way too easy to mistakenly select the wrong option to sync and lose a lot of progress, which is why whenever I get that message I backup my local saves and pay close attention to the dates and times for the local/cloud saves it wants to sync before making a choice.
Sorry there's not better news ☹️ Totally sucks to have lost so much progress. Also seems weird that either your cloud or local data was a year out of data.

@Leora85 yes that is one of the main things that stumped me. The last modified date on the surviving save reverted back to 08 November 2015. I even tried to recover deleted files on the disk and found 1 Chapter save file but nothing else.I have been playing it over the last 2 weeks and it sync'd well almost every time and anytime it did ask I checked the latest Save date and time (always local save since this is the only machine I play on) and selected it to overwrite the Cloud. Even if I had somehow mixed the 2 up it should have only cost me 1 session's worth of progress. Yet I lost 2 Characters (Though funnily the second character's folder is there but it is empty.)
The only scenario that I can think of where I lost everything would be if somehow there was a system restore to before I started playing again 2 weeks ago and then accidentally sync'd the local saves to the cloud. The problem is, I have System restore disabled. Since I am very sure I didn't manually delete it myself I am at a loss other than somehow the Origin Client stuffed up. A log would be nice if I could find one

I got them back!
Origin Client, Game Details Page, Second Tab "Cloud Storage" --> "Restore Last Saved Game"
I got them all back, and I'd given up!

@Serious_Python That's great 🙂 I think that's the first time I've heard of that option doing something good (which is why I didn't think to mention it 😛 ). Yay! 🥳
