Anyone has a solution for this? This feature was recently added on 17/11/2012 and allows ME2 to download directly on Origin instead of having to download it on the BioWare website. The problem is, that it keeps on downloading. Once it finishes downloading, it will notify you that it's "Ready to Install". Clicking the button will just flash that it's installing and nothing happens and it ends quickly.
The problem is, once everything is downloaded. If you close or restart Origin, the same download comes back again, wasting unnecessary bandwidth. In some countries, bandwidth is counted. This may be a huge problem for ME2 owners who have their copy on Origin and not Steam. I recenlty converted my Steam copy to Origin as launching via Steam is a hassle due to unnecessary DRM re-checks (the launching game popup. Can be very fast or very slow depending on your internet connection. In my case, it's moderate to slow and noticable enough to get pissed off every time I launch the game) and the unreliability of Steam's 'Offline mode'. I never see Steam go offline like Origin do but if there's an internet outage in our area, Steam will not allow me to go to 'Offline mode'. It seems that Steam has to be prepared for offline mode first before it can use the ability. A sudden outage will disable all access to my games on Steam for days until the problem is sorted out. It will usually take days and I would be unable to access my Steam library in that time.
I want to give chance to Origin. However, this problem is frustrating me. I get 3-10 UAC prompts and I have to cancel it to prevent it from downloading. If I choose to 'allow' Origin to download the DLCs, it will download these DLCs:
-Arrival
-Overlord Pack
-Genesis
-Lair of the Shadow Broker
-Kasumi: Stolen Memory
-Incisor Sniper Rifle
-Collector's Weapons and Armor
(Basically DLCs I've purchased on the BioWare website. I've already installed these DLCs from the BioWare website)
Letting it download completely won't do any help as it does not allow me to install it. Clicking the 'ready to install' button does nothing. Whenever I restart Origin, it redownloads the finished files as if it was never saved.
Any solution will help (aside from redownloading the entire 12GB game)
