I haven't been able to test this (because I usually romance Liara in ME1), but the person who runs up to Shepard in the beginning is always Liara. In the original PC & Xbox versions of ME2, the person would be either Kaidan, Ashley, or Liara depending on your imported choices. I assume this too is bugged on the Legendary Edition?
@Dresden_N7 I believe as you say this issue was specific to the Playstation version in the original games. The Xbox One version of Legendary Edition did not have this issue for me; I did not romance anyone in ME1 and Kaidan survived to ME2, and he was the one who appeared for me in the intro to ME2.
(If it is bugged in the Playstation version of Legendary Edition it probably deserves it's own thread, the issue this thread is about is different and universal).
