[PC] Mass Effect 3 crashes PC

At random points in gameplay or in cutscenes, the sound will distort for a few seconds before the entire PC crashes. This can happen every where from a few minutes to almost an hour. I should also note that I only got this problem when I upgrated my CPU.

  • When you say the entire PC crashes....what EXACTLY do you mean??   Reason I ask, is if the PC is cutting off or powering down then it is likely hardware.  If it is blue screening or locking up non-responsive, then it is most likely software.

    If it only started after an update to hardware, then I would be looking at the install of the chip, aka seating of it and the cooler.  I would also then look at clean installs of the drivers for the new chip, aka chipset drivers and any for MOBO.  You also need to put back to stock any overclocking or changes to the voltages previously made too. 

    As a note, the only crashes listed in your Dxdiag file were for Microsoft OneDrive...which MAY be part of the issue depending on which folders it handles and if the game saves or is in any way stored in folders being managed by OneDrive.

    When the crash does occur, the sound bugs out and the displays show nothing, however the computer is still on, but it's non-responsive. I have only had this happen with ME3 sofar. As for onedrive, I had the same set up for saves and the like for my old cpu, and I never had any crashes at all.

    Agree with @holger1405  on the updating needed for graphics card.

    But as for the saves and OneDrive...well, did you old system have multiple crashing/apphangs for OneDrive in the problem save lists??

    Not saying it is the issue, but you have a system hang issue, and OneDrive has hangs listed in the crash files.....so something you should check out.
