PC ME 1 Legendary Edition (Keys not responsive)

I recently installed the ME Legendary Edition and am playing ME1 currently.  For some reason the keys do not work to access the escape menu, inventory or map.  They simply aren't responsive.  Restart...

Do you have other input devices connected, like a controller, a drawing board or similar? 
If so, disconnect them > restart the PC > Test.

If that doesn't help, did you tried to remap this keys?
