PC version compatibility, and XBOX 360 disc change questions
Alright, so i am thinking about buying the Mass Effect Trilogy, but thre are several things about the game i came across that make my choice of getting it for xbox 360 a waste, so i looked up for the PC version if my computer can handle it, and i have no idea. I only have 2 questions, both are yes and no answers, but give feedback if you desire.
Question 1. For the xbox 360, ME2 and ME3 require disc changes during the game. i read for ME2 that it's a simple 2 disc change, from 1, to 2, then back to 1 again, and no more changing, but for ME3, the disc swapping is MUCH more severe depending on how you play the game, so if i install all the discs, do i still need to swap discs for ME2 and ME3, and if so, how bad is it swapping for each?
QUestion 2: seeing as i don't like the disc swapping arguments people are giving, i am thinking about grabing it for the PC instead, getting a igital download so i don't have to DEAL with discs. That being said, i dont know if my system specs can handle ME3. I tried the Demo of ME2 fo steam, ad the game ran Semi-smoothly, it had a bit of choppy behaviour here and there, but nothing TOO bad. Here are my system specs.
OS: 64-bit windows 7 premium
Memory: 3.00 GB, however only 2.75 GB is usable
Processor: AMD Sempron M120 with 2.10 GHz
Graphics card: AMD M880G with ATI mobility Radion HD 4200
My question is, can my computer run all 3 Mass Effect games smoothly, and without breaking the games OR my computer?
You don't meet the system requirements. The HD 4200 is too slow, especially the mobility version, and and AMD Sempron is not the equivalent of an Intel Core 2 Duo, which the game requires.
That PC will launch the games and you will be able to play ME2 and 3, but it won't run smoothly. ME1 is more demanding. A few years ago I ran ME1 on faster hardware that yours and still got horrible framerates.
