I dont get it..
I played Silver with 6 Chars now. I may wipe when teamed up with guys who dont use dodge and supplies and thinking gathering at one spot is a good plan.
(put Dodge on Mouse4, works well^^)
My highest Gold-Weapon is a Lanat IV, still got a long way to go.
I like to have a Difficulty that will be fun when i am fully equipped and with a premade Team.
Sooo.. why do you want to be able to beat Gold now? To get more Exp / better Weapons? Better Weapons for what, when you already beat Gold that easy?
PS: Sry, this Thread seems to go a little off topic^^
As long as you bring something viable to gold you hardly need anything leveled. I agree Srilan.. I want the game to be harder! :eahigh_file: By the way harder difficulties are there so that your leveled weapons are useful people need to stop going in with level 1 varients of everything with little upgrades and expecting everything to just fly by, I think gold is fine (a little too easy though), but silver needs to be reworked, and the majority of AR'S need a massive buff.
Upgraded or properly used weapon based builds weapons are more than good enough in higher difficulties, still there are some weapons that are just trash no matter what you do with them.
Also, on the weapon damage equipment still waiting to be rolled out that will NOT make more weapons very viable in higher difficulties. It takes me to max out my weapon based skills in Turian Havoc to even make weapons "normal" feeling (aside from the already viable ones)in Gold and that is WAY more of a buff to weapon damage than that equipment will give. Marco is right, they should not NEED the equipment to be viable. The equipment should just be an upgrade.

I can't say I understand the plight-and-uproar this early in the game's product life cycle. They are working on it. MP does have some rather rediculous moments, but at least they are working on it. My first 2 games last night were full of glitches, mostly from lag and networking. Not every game was the same, and eventually there were some solid host connections with only minor lag.
As for the "balance"... be careful what you wish for. The developers have an idea in their heads what should do what. Base numbers can be adjusted with mods, to a degree, and then you can add boosters to your kit. I've never used a booster as I'm saving them for gold runs. But i've done plenty of level 14 full team extractions on Silver to know that things seem fine (when there is a solid connection). If you ask for changes, and get those changes, chances are there will be other changes, to counter those changes. One thing I've learned is that you can't make everyone happy.
What I do agree on is that I "wish" combos did more damage.

You can adjust weapons with upgraded gear, skills, consumables, what have you, but I agree @soulguard03 combo's and the majority of abilities need to be reworked FOR SURE AND the equipment is out as well for that argument. The majority of skills tech and biotic are complete and utter trash (aside from things like flamethrower, anihilation field, pull) even with upgrades, the most they can be used for is CC in anything higher than bronze. Making primer or detonator characters nearly obsolete in higher difficulty. Abilities and combo's NEED a buff.
I really think they need to add a platinum and make certain enemies harder (Rework them). Make disciples throw grenades more often to encourage movement maybe make them faster, nullifiers still need more work, agents should have.... something more maybe stealth.. that enemy is literally pointless.

The game is easy, but for all the wrong reasons. It has the Destiny problem. Anyone who played at launch remembers "Phogoth". An incredibly easy boss to kill, but was an absolute bullet sponge. This game has the same problem. Enemy A.I may do things that are weird, but they are in no way deadly. If you just sit in cover, they won't come and touch you (except for adhi's and berserkers and such). The problem is the game doesn't feel satisfying to play. Whatever your opinion, the largest and most accepted one is that enemies are stupid bullet sponges. Any difficulty they ever put out will be easy because you can run around and punch everything. Guns suck because they lack damage to kill things (except for a select few). A full mag of turbo charged avenger on silver barely kills single trash mob. * and not fun. I think we have got confirmation on Twitter that they are looking into these problems, and thank god. The vast majority of the community are ME3 die hards, and us who actually dedicated time into the game and loved it know that the game was difficult, but no enemies were bullet sponges and every gun had a place in it's difficulties. Starter guns were viable in silver so you could unlock gold viable guns. In Andromeda, starter guns are only viable in bronze and if you want better guns for silver/gold you gotta shill out money and buy high tier packs. Plain and simple. I am all for an increased challenge (though I think they would just go overboard and we would be back at this hell hole of balance). Enemy behavior needs to be improved, but guns or enemy health need significant changes. I hope we can all atleast agree on that. Bullet sponges do not make a fun game.

Enemies are not bullet sponges hit them in weak points use viable weapons, or use classes that buff weapons. Weapons and skills are just largely underpowered. I can 2 shot an enemy in gold with a sniper that does 500 damage per shot (inferno 1 - no weapon consumables). Using Turian Havoc level 10 or so at the time - not even running a level 20 to do gold. I was doing gold easy at level 3 Turian Havoc for that matter (over 20k points at level 3 last night - NOT CARRIED).
I have also played silver using a P.A.W. 1 one of the lowest damaging ar's and did fine as long as I was beaming their weak point. On Krogan Mercenary NO WEAPON DAMAGE buffs (or rather very low at the time - no turbocharge I mean). If I can record some footage I can kill an Annointed with a pistol and turbocharge in gold in a few seconds.. body shots. Low level Turian havoc. Infiltrators stealth damage buff is good too.
The reason I say they are not bullet sponges is the few weapons that perform well without buffs can already still 1 or 2 shot enemies if aimed correctly. Body shots 3-4 shots (maybe 6 body shots to shield) GOLD.. If you decrease health those guns will go from 4 body shots to 2 to kill making them overpowered rather than viable anymore, and nobody will use the old weapons anyway. Other weapons need to be buffed to catch up with the viable weapons. Characters based around passive weapon buffs and or turbocharge show what underpowered weapons can do more normally if they were buffed, in my opinion.

I heavily disagree. Using my level 12 turian havoc on silver with maxed turbo charge and gun passives with the avenger, takes over 20 headshots to kill a raider. That is a bullet sponge. Takes about 10-13 headshots in ME3 without any gun bonuses.

@GigaChadEnhanced Avenger? M-8 Avenger? You guys are using that gun? No wonder nobody can kill anything. 😛
I'll post a video in gold on weapon damage at some point. Stop using the trash defaults lmao.
Stop arguing a point that's proven time and again to be wrong.
@illequine @GigaChadEnhanced He proved my point and I quote: "Upgraded or properly used weapon based builds weapons are more than good enough in higher difficulties, still there are some weapons that are just trash no matter what you do with them"
Stop using m-8 Avenger! LOL! :eahigh_file:

So lemme get this straight. The only way to unlock better guns is to play higher difficulties and get more money, right? You don't get nearly enough creds in bronze to grind out tier 2 packs, so the only option left is to play silver. Well ok what are the guns that we have? You see the problem? The Avenger HAS to be viable on silver, same with all the other starters, or else progression is broken.

@GigaChadEnhanced The viper sniper rifle (uncommon) is one option a pretty decent semi automatic sniper with a decent sized mag combined with the human infiltrator or human soldier - one of the best starters, lethal combination. List of decent starter/ low rarity weapons: Widow, Raptor, Carnifex, Charger (once leveled), disciple (combined with VG very good finisher (charge punch shoot - charge, shoot, punch)
Leveling a VG or another melee oriented class focusing on melee damage and charge (shields) then queuing golds and be shoehorned into a melee role for 55k a full extract. You don't even need guns. Human adept great for combos - pull debuffs enemies. Mix a medium damage gun with combo biotics. Human engineer freeze cc and combo detonation kit, can debuff armor combine with it's turret that can combo detonate for you, or just simply overload - mix with medium damage weapon as a finisher while cced or directly after combo detonation. Great kit. etc., etc. Lots of options.

re: meinChurru - again..
I'm done discussing anything with you rationally. You appear to just want be contrary for no real reason.
Also, i don't use the avenger anymore, and haven't since i was Apex 1k, i'm at 9.3k atm and my opinion has not swayed that 90% of the AR's are rubbish on silver and gold, and they all work well on bronze.
You may have confused me with someone else. And by that logic, you may have confused Bronze for Gold.
The colours are similar.

What are we even arguing about? I have posted numerous times I think weapons are underpowered for the most part, I am agreeing with you guys. Just not on the bullet sponge enemies that is simply not true.
Various recent quotes of mine:
"I am not suggesting that weapons aren't weak."
"It takes me to max out my weapon based skills in Turian Havoc to even make weapons "normal" feeling"
"In my opinion the difficulties are actually too easy when you play any of the viable playstyles"
"The vast majority of weapons (which there are a giant amount of) are supremely outclassed by a very select few."
"Weapons need to be tweaked heavily. The vast majority of weapons are completely obsolete compared to the select few that are actually the only ones that are pretty much viable. I can't even think of a single assault rifle that is viable, except for the grenade launcher and that can hardly even be called one!"
and @GigaChadEnhanced Don't have any guns? Just go VG melee farm money then get guns! I wanted to prove my point (for fun) my FIRST silver on a level 1 HUMAN VG only using the starter katana (not like I got any medals for it anyway lol) shotgun: http://imgur.com/a/RDFcy
Still working on actual weapon comparisons. Don't know why it shows up so small.
And don't get on to me about being forced to play melee roles to be viable either I am working on that. I'm just saying it's not the end of the world if your gun is trash. I'll do the same thing on a human biotic or engineer if people think only melee is the only thing viable in silver+.

so the gold armor right now adds 75% melee damage and 10% shields.. are you kids REALLY thinking the gold weapon armor WONT be comparable? the items ARE in the game, you can look at them in collections! they havent been in rotation yet, but its obvious they are there.. yet you want them to balance the game for YOUR playstyle (which is apparently trash)? im top 50 on the leaderboard and its NOT because im trying, its simply a matter of getting better every day and blocking dullards so they dont end up in my lobby. i mainly use melee though at this point im working on my prestige which means going through and using every single gun (everything else is pretty much done.. still got apex missions to go but that is simply time) and obviously they arent all created equally. but to pretend i am some destiny * is laughable.. i dont play any military based fps's either before you reach for that straw... my background is in unreal.
do yourselves a favor and simply dont play the game for a month so all the armors can be out and the final coat of polish can be applied to the game AS IMAGINED. at that point youll atleast know what you are complaining about as opposed to what you are doing right now which is crying without even knowing why.

That is melee. If you compare it to an adaptive war amp for actual power damage it only adds 15%. The closest comparison to what the weapon equipment will add baseline (Turian Havoc weapon passives+ turbocharge) the majority of weapons are still garbage and underperform - and turian havoc has tons of other buffs aside from straight up damage. The less bad weapons just feel normal. All that amp will do is make weapons more normal feeling and they shouldn't feel normal with an amp they should feel upgraded. I can almost guarantee you though it won't be a 75% weapon damage boost, and if it is I'll laugh if the majority of weapons are still trash even with the amp plus a havoc passive and turbocharge. 😛
The only way the vast majority of weapons are viable to even use with or instead of the baseline few superior weapons is to have them VERY upgraded (item levels, leveled barrels, character passives, etc.).

We aren't arguing, we are discussing. There is a massive difference and let's all try to be respectful to one another (for the most part we are). I have tried many of those weapons (I don't own the disciple) and for the most part I find them to be a bit lacking. The viper is ok but that's about it for me. If most weapons are *, that makes enemies feel like bullet sponges, buffing a good amount of guns would alleviate that, if that helps since you agree guns are for the most part under powered. They may not actually be designed to be bullet sponges, but under powered weapons make them feel that. I did play a match with my avenger with a booster and ammo power and it felt good, I just wish that wasn't required to make the Avenger good in silver.

I did learn very early on that vanguard punching stuff was viable, but I really just do not enjoy that play style and won't play it solely. I play it every now and then but it gets stale, I like to switch it up. Unfortunately that and sniping with the vanquisher are the only viable (viable in terms of seeming like a reasonable challenge. I know that more things are "viable" but just not all that satisfying) play styles. I'm for a blackout, but will not pull my support from bioware. I have been playing ME3 a lot and have high hopes that bioware will pull some great balance changes out for us coming within the next two months! It's just not for me atm, my singleplayer experience left a very poor taste in my mouth with the numerous quest bugs I don't play it often, I know they are fixed now and much better but I just gotta get myself back into it. Thank you everyone for discussing this! This is what forums and communities are for, getting ideas out there and showing that we care in our own ways. I'm sure coming soon the game will be good and fun for all us, just some of us will wait for patches.

@MeinChurro you are comparing a SILVER armor to a gold... furthermore you can guarantee NOTHING.

@MEGAF1UX It's 10%. 😉

@MeinChurro yea, they completely fecked up. unless it has some sort of hidden attribute (like removing the need to ever reload) it is insultingly underpowered.
