playing Andromeda on PS4 or XBox1?

I have played all 3 Mass Effects games on my older Toshiba satellite laptop but it will not play Andromeda (I tried loading it on the origin access) Since I cannot update the video card so cannot play most newer games I am thinking of buying either a PS4 or XBox1. I cannot justify the expense of a new gaming computer. I have never played either PS4 or XBox before so am looking for some feedback on what other users prefer and why. Seems there are lots of choices in gaming consuls so I want something that will last me for a few years. Thanks!

I went ahead and ordered the computer from The Source ($100 cheaper than Best Buy) so should have it in a week. Can't wait to get it set up, wait to load Andromeda which will take hours and play. I  am replaying ME  3 for about the 10th time now.

I am also looking forward to buying games I have not been able to get due to the old laptop.

  • Hi, @jasper1949

XBox 1 games are compatible with windows 10. It's easy to play XBox games in windows 10 via the XBOX app. So, if you decide to go for a new gaming computer in a couple of years, you'll still be able to play those games on your new PC.

I would go for XBOX. 🙂

PS: If you buy a new gaming PC, go for a desktop. Updating and upgrading a desktop is always possible. 😉

    Hello @jasper1949

Both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have a huge fanbase. Only one thing can be said for certain, Mass Effect: Andromeda looks gorgeous on any of those. But in the end, it is up to you to decide.

    Cheers,

It's a beast! If you have the money to spend, I would say: "Go for it!"

I think with that horsepower, you should be able to calculate a general quantum mechanics law. 😉🙂

I want to be able to play new big games with no freezes or problems for quite a few years as well as have a computer that will do all the other computer stuff, so the price may be worth it. Thanks

@jasper1949  It looks good to me. Could use some extra RAM (lately, recommendations for memory  are minimum 8GB - recommended 16GB and if the trend continues you will need soon 32GB RAM). Other than that, you can probably play about anything without problems.

  • Thank you @Straatford87 🙂

    Hi @jasper1949

First thing 😉 - My Opinion is no more important or right than yours.🤞

I think the game Mass Effect Andromeda  will run better on your PC. You can  hit 60 fps with everything maxed and i think you'll still probably have better picture quality than PS4.

If you're interested in multiplayer, go where your friends are. If you don't have people, you aim to play the multiplayer part with then go with PC since it's free.

The PC offers you several different input options and a better performance threshold, the choice here is simple.

My own PC is very similar in specs to yours, if it is about it-> (http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/cyberpowerpc-slc8420inc-gaming-pc-intel-core-i7-2tb-hdd-nvidia-g...?) and I can tell you that ...you made a very good choice.

I've also have an aversion to playing shooters with a controller so I'll be using mouse and keyboard and I do not think I'm impartial now my friend.😃

Conclusion, whatever you choose from pc, ps4, xbox1...if you can play what game you want,  is very good.:eahigh_file:
