While i do think they won't change it, which i sadly think they should since no one asked for models to be swapped. I have to disagree that it could break the game. Worst case would be assets not loading in causing a crash, but that's found in early stages of your test pass.
As a stated, it's a data change on tech that's already been validated as working and tested. They just have to re-import the model (if stripped from the build) and make sure facial movement and corresponding data works with it.This is about a day's work, testing included if the testers have the save files in the corresponding games.
I am afraid it is more complicated than that, not to mention the amount of work they have to put in, in a time bigger problems need to be addressed.
Sometimes code is behaving in unpredictable ways on configurations you did not test on, and that are the majority by far.
So what I am saying is, they will not risk a change on a cosmetic matter that is purely subjective anyway.
