@PsychotpsWe like the challenge, that's why we play on Insanity. But I agree with OP, both the starting thermal clip amount and their drop rate are laughable. Even with offhand ammo pack, I constantly run out of ammo.
This is something they said they'd adjust, and it's still totally crap. I make do with an infiltrator since I have three weapons to switch around, but I can see how playing an adept could be pain.
Also, the infiltrator is supposed to be a sniper class - having a total of 10 shots against 15 enemies who have different kinds of protective layers is a pain, what's the point of being a sniper if I have to go close quarters to loot "ammo"... Early game, headshots are not always instakills even after the shields/armor/barriers are down.
I'm totally confused. You like the challenge but agree with the OP that you want to make the game easier? That's why they have difficulty levels. If the setting is too hard, lower the difficulty.
I think it's more that you want the achievements but its too hard.

I think 'Insanity' difficulty is supposed to be, er, 'insane'.
I find levelling up pedantically and pick/managing you crew wisely make insurmountable areas barely viable (which is kind of the point).

Jesus christ mate. I like that I have to choose my squad based on their abilities, instead of "oooooh I like Garrus, he's cool".
I like that the game pressures me to utilise all my weapons and abilities by giving different defense layers to mobs.
I don't like that my sniper character has to run into cqc just to pick up some "ammo" that did not even exist in the first entry. Not that hard to understand.
It's not hard, it's annoying and nonsensical. I've played through ME2 on insanity in the original game on PC and X360, I know how it works - but since BW advertised that thermal clips would be somewhat adjusted in LE, I was naive enough to believe it.

This is why they gave you an SMG and cloak. Disappear, flank, kill, grab ammo. C'mon dude, infiltrator is more than a sniper, it's an assassin.

That's reasonable, but the problem is there are no ammo drops most times. This has been hit on numerous times in this thread that this is apparent on Insanity mode. Imagine using cloak to make a hit, find no ammo then having to get away before being shot dead. In CQC situations this is already too risky. Open areas where retreating is readily available, yea, I can see that. ME2 already on Insanity is a 2-3 hit from any type of enemy attack to mean death.
If the implication of using such tactics is a risk/reward factor, then there's nearly always just risk & no reward.

Hu h? Did you like how easy ME1 was made and how they balanced out the weapons and damage stats? If that doesn't bother you, then why would requesting the same thing with ME2 do that? I am literally spending time in areas where enemies don't go and use biotics to wear them out and it's not fun.
Look I get the challenge part, but why not follow the same revisions that the devs did with ME1?
Also, I already stated before why I do not want to lower the difficulty because I want to "Insanity" achievements.

By all due respect, if you want the achievement, play the game on insanity as it is.
What you are saying is that you want the Devs to reduce the difficulty level so you can have this achievement.
But there are players like me, who like the challenge and have fun as it is.
You can just change the difficulty and play the game as you like, but if the Devs change the difficulty we can not make it harder for us.

Did you read my last response when I questioned if they thought it was OK for the devs to make ME1 easier? I literally went thru the base of ME1 with a few side missions (to get the achievement) in abt 6-7 hours on Insanity bc I carried over all of my stats/power armors etc. Making all weapons available for all classes made this esp easy. I could snipe enemies with ease using high explosive shells. It's funny there was no reply but that apparently is perfectly OK for a game to beat on Insanity mode on the MELE version(s).
ME2 was already harder than ME1 by far, but they make ME1 easier?! Also, they did not fix the ammo drops it appears (at least on Insanity mode). I still experience times when nothing dropped after killing numerous enemies. If it's reasonable to reconfigure ME1, then I don't why it's unreasonable to do that for ME2-3.
Also, what platform do you play on (I should have started this thread for Xbox/PS players only)?
