i happen to like the da series too. i actually enjoyed playing DA2, so to me that makes it a good game (though plenty of people don't agree). i just happen to like the mass effect trilogy more, and i think that's entirely about being able to play my shepard through all 3 games in the first trilogy.

Being the epic Space Opera hero/heroine helped a little there too. Being able to be epic AND be a * was truly unique.
BTW, the last time I was buying Cobras the gal at the counter asked about you.

Off topic for a sec - just a HUGE thank you @jpcerutti1! I have been trying for two weeks two think of the word "Opera" to follow space. It has been on my tongue the whole time and I refused to look it up like an idiot. Woohoo!
