Probe problem, Help!

I am running PC version ME3.
In game I can scan with my right mouse button but, unlike in ME2, I can't launch a probe with the left mouse button. I saw in a video that there should be a button at the bottom of the planet info regarding probes but that button is not there. I suspect this is a bug, but after so many years since the game was launched I would think it would have been corrected.

Please provide me with a link or a detailed how-to explanation on how to fix this annoying issue.

No, what I'm seeing does not match what the video is showing.

First, when i enter orbit and the planet is presented I do not have a "Start Scanner" button all I have is "leave orbit". Nowhere in the bindings do I find anything to adjust the keybind setting for this. Second, I can't RMB click to scan a planet even if I had  probes to launch.

To clear this up, while you are in the system view, you scan the system with your right mouse button?

Than the planets or places with interesting objects will be marked.

If you enter a planets orbit that is marked as "interesting" (red cycle around it) there is no "Start Scanner" button?

You only can scan planets that are marked as interesting by scanning in the system view and you can't scan all planets, as a matter of fact most planets are not scannable in ME3.

thank you for your reply. I tried this and have so far come up with nothing to show for it. Based on what you've said I suppose that this it typical.

A single scan in system view will not cover the whole system. So you need to scan at different location in the system. (Careful!, in Reaper controlled system that will notify them that the Normandy is present and they will hunt you.)

While not all Planets are scannable, you should find at least one or two in every system you visit that hold some interesting stuff.
