Purchasing Bioware Points on BSN

Hello, I have a question directly related to purchasing Bioware points on BSN--not on Origin. If anyone can help me with that, please do.

First off, I recently tried to buy some points there, but I was unable to: I entered all the credit card information, but when i clicked "Buy" or whatever it just kicked me out to social.bioware.com/redeem_code.php. I don't understand why this happened.

Second, is the purchasing method there separate from Origin? By that I mean, when I use a credit card on BSN to buy points, will that credit card information be sent to the same place as if I had done it using Origin? Are they the same service merely under different software? Or are they two completely different ways of obtaining the same thing (i.e., the information is not stored the same place)?
