Thanks for the reply, and please excuse my ridiculously late reaction! I eventually managed to solve the problem in a rather awkward way: I used the Windows search function to find the Coalesced file, and as it turned out, the Coalesced Editor did save the changes, but saved the file to some obscure location with the exact same folder structure rather than the actual install folder. I still haven't the slightest idea where that second folder came from, or why the file was saved there, but I used cut and paste to place it in the proper folder and it worked. That was a confusing experience, but oh well, at least I can play. 😉
