The way I understood it, is that classic is exactly the same as the OG, where you would need two playthroughs to hit the cap, and the legendary means you can hit the cap and get max bonuses in ME2 in one playthrough.

  • I asked a question about this earlier, as well.  I’ve seen a lot of (different) guesses about how each mode works but no one seems to know for sure. It would be nice to get some kind of official clarification so people could make an informed decision when starting out the game.  My suspicion is that both give you the same amount of point in the end (you get more per level in legendary). And both can be maxed in one play through.  I suspect the change was just to make the same number of levels in mass effect 1 as mass effect 2.  But again, that’s just my guess. It would be great to know for sure.
