Re: Mass Effect 1 won't start ! HELP !

Has each of the last two members adding comments here already updated the game with the latest patch?  The available versions are all still unpatched, and the game simply cannot run in newer Windows versions until after it is patched.

I can also confirm that running Origin as admin worked for me on a similar issue.

One addendum; if trying to launch Origin as an admin does not work, make sure that  you are exiting completely from Origin before running as admin. I had the same problem most people here seem to have had. I was pulling teeth and hairs trying tofigure out the issue when all I had to do was exit Origin completely and rerun as admin. It was just changing focus since even though I "exited" with the red button, the program was still running in the system tray. Hope this helps.
