Re: Mass Effect Andromeda dlc ideas

i'd like to dive back into jien garson's murder again, maybe make it the first link in a long chain that leads back to the benefactor?

That would be pretty good.. diving into the murder mystery only to find out its the biotic god volus... but in all seriousness I would like to explore the whole benefactor/murder mystery story arc and possibly the story arc of finding out the truth about the memory fragments outcome.. don't want to put too much detail in for those who have not finished it.

There is quite a few different directions dlc can go..

As for free/small dlc, I and many others have posted about simulation arena style thing where you could test weapons/builds and fight old or new enemies.. abit like citadel dlc from me3.. a cosmetic shop where you can get clothes/piercings and hairs etc and maybe a way to customise the tempest, be it colours, your cabin etc.

  • Multiple fighting arenas, they already have the layout for two of these on New Chuchunka and Aya, just open them up for players to enter.

Return to Habitat 7 - identify that the thunderstorms have a 'dry season' and get to look into some of the other Remnant sites that you visited but couldn't fully explore

Obviously large expansion for Quarians that involves more stuff on Nexus too

Perhaps show the growth of the Nexus as it moves on to wave 2

Cosmetic upgrades .ie. more Nomad skins, more casual clothing, squadmate outfits!

And finally some kind of bridging content probably related to the benefactor maybe involving ER

Ah, yeah, I just had an epiphany.

For any additional content, if it requires payment, such as DLCs that will cost people Money, refrain its contents to things that are not really going to influence the game that much, or try doing things smartly if so. Example:

The OMEGA DLC in ME3. You weren't obliged to have it bought to get answers and have a great chunck of story added to you. Not having Omega would NOT bother you in any way. As well as back in ME2, where you could buy The Shadow Broker's DLC. The outcome would mainly explain how Liara actually became SB; she would either way.

Back to our senses: The Quarian Ark, thread carefully around it. If you make a DLC for it, it must be free. I would completely ABHOR Bioware if they simply forced people to spend money to explain that ark's fate, if it really impacts upon the story at all. If the Quarian Ark has really no impact upon unfolding future, that I would not mind. HOWEVER, it feels like things just obvious such as these must be uttered every so often. The logic could be laid bare like this:

    • QUARIAN ARK: impact is great on story? If yes, free DLC. If not, paid DLC.
    • BENEFACTOR'S IDENTITY: impact is grea on story? If yes, free DLC. If not, paid DLC.

People usually already spends tons of Money following a franchise gaming (which means they already paid for the continuation of said stories), but they shouldn't be forced to pay even more for the same sort of continuation. Only when they want to explore additional data, nothing that will hinder their understanding and logics around the main story. For example: ME3 you would get to the end, get to the Citadel ... and then, they would SELL a DLC that would add the Illusive Man in the final scene. Without that DLC, you would not know what would had happened with TIM. That's what I'm talking about here. Don't play around with customers, patches and potential use of DLCs.

    That's all.

  • There could be a free dlc that expands the Coma Twin mission, using original Pathfinder team members as squad mates, where you are trying to hold off the Kett assault on Hyperion, holding chokepoints until bulkheads close etc. Then, after Archon takes down SAM, you do your run for the reboot.

It could also be interesting, since SAM can't focus on more than 1 individual at once for combat support, if those of us with the Angaran AI in SAM node had her temporarily providing support for one of the Ryders. (Where the heck is she now anyway?)

Since SOMETHING has to be going on on the Nexus while the Kett armada just flies in and steals an ark right from the middle of it, (unless Tann & the council decided to just tell the Kett "take whatever you want, and we'll just keep our heads down") this would be a great time to allow you to trigger one or more APEX missions to repel boarders. You could have several, possibly featuring guest appearances by the other pathfinders/kandros, working to defend different arks/parts of the station
