Re: MASS EFFECT BRING DOWN THE SKY and Pinnacle Station for free? - NO KEY NEEDED

Hi hermionepao,

Please follow these instructions to get the Bring Down the Sky DLC:

  1. Make sure Mass Effect is installed and was started at least one time, then download and run the installer from the following location:
  2. Run the downloaded file to install the new content.
  3. A code is no longer required to authorize the installer.

Have fun playing!

Ursula

Edit: The download link for "Pinnacle Station" can be found here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/dragon-age/dragon-age-origins/bioware-classics-dlc/

This did not work for me. It is still giving me the exceeded activations error. I contacted tech support and they provided me with a key which authenticated and then the install encountered an error, never installed, and the key they gave me was used up. If the DLC is free, why do we need to register it this way? Shouldn't this key be always valid?

They should make a key that has unlimited uses.

Just worked for me,so it may work again for awhile.

    THANK YOU.  SO MUCH.

I contacted EA a few days ago to ask for a new key and have gotten no response yet.  The wait has been extremely frustrating.  But this one worked, so thank you very much!

Honestly, since they made this DLC free, they should either release a key with unlimited uses or an installer that doesn't require a key.  It would even save them some effort in the long run, since they wouldn't have to deal with resetting keys or releasing new ones any more...

Oh thank you, you are a god among men. I tried the EA help chat and they couldn't help me, after making me wait half the **bleep** day to talk to someone, then he gives me there number for there phone support and a case number....... It was going to be THREE hours before I got through when all I needed was a **bleep** FREE CD KEY...... So the five minutes I was on hold I went to Bioware's forum, found a link to this post, used the key you posted, and installed the DLC....... All in five minutes after wasting half the day with EA's **bleep**. Oh well I knew EA was incompetent so what should I have expected. Thanks again agoldendragon now I can finally just play the game.

This key does not work, is there an updated key?

I have followed all the above steps, installed and re-installed the game (cleaning out all the Bioware Mass Effect folders I could find) turned off my fire wall, ran the installer as administrator; nothing.Followed  the instructions to run the game first and then load the DLC; again nothing.  I have searched here and the Bioware members forums and none of the codes listed anywhere are working. Seeing how the game is now part of a Mass Effect bundle I see a lot of angry people trying to load this DLC and getting a stone wall. Not nice EA.

I tried the C6KK etc code and it did not work 😕mileyfrustrated:

Please may I have a code that works - I got the message "For security reasons only a limiter number can ever be licenced..". etc

EDIT: OK the 3FLL code worked for me - thanks

Ok, so I just banged my head against the wall for who knows how long on this and finally got it installed.  The only addition I would suggest is that Origin MUST BE RUNNING for this install to work.  If it is not, it will just tell you that the installation failed.

    THANK YOU!

I had to change my notebook and looking for the question, I returned to find the file that I need. Thank you again 😉

The link hasn't worked in the last few days. It gives a small file, 8KB file size. I get a msg stating it's not a valid .exe file.

Or it just says the sever sent no data, depending on the browser used.

The first link posted in this thread no longer works, be sure to pull down the file via here (the file will be 849MB):

    http://lvlt.bioware.cdn.ea.com/bioware/u/f/eagames/bioware/masseffect/dlc/MassEffect_BDtS_EFIGS.exe

Then you must create a fake executable with notepad by opening Notepad, then go to File -> Save As, change the file

type to All (VERY IMPORTANT), name the file MassEffectLauncher.exe, and then navigate

to the root of your Mass Effect directory, which is probably %programfiles(x86)%\origin games\mass effect\

and click Save so this file is in the Mass Effect game folder.  After that run BDTS installer that you donwloaded from from the link above .  After BDTS installs completely go to your Origin Games Library, right click the Mass Effect icon in your games library and select "check for update".  Allow the game to update and you should be good to go afterwards.

***NOTE***If after installing ME1 and it won't start or pull up the launcher for the first time, close Origin completely, right click the Origin client's icon on your desktop and select "run as administrator" then click on the ME1 icon in your games library and the ME1 game launcher will launch and the game play.

Thanks for replying. 😕mileyhappy: The download works on my laptop.

Something's messed up my computer. Apparently this dlc is the only file on the internet my main computer won't download.

I tried to do this but when I run the installer, it says, "Mass Effect not found. Please install from original source." I bought the game off of steam, but while steam will allow me to install the DLC,  steam won't run the game period. Any suggestions?

Hate to disappoint you, but in my case code is still needed. Just recently re-install my Steam version of Mass Effect, tried to install BDtS (freshly downloaded), but installer still asks for code.

Probably it's just my case, but still.
