This is not my solution, but it works for me now.
1. Install Steam.
2. Install EA App.3. Install ME: Legendary.
4. Delete trilogyGamerProfile from "Documents/BioWare/Mass Effect Legendary Edition".
5. Delete "GamerProfile" at "Documents/BioWare/Mass Effect Legendary Edition/Save/ME2" (or ME3 version).
5. Starting game Launcher in steam.
6. Switch EA App to offline mode.
7. Start ME2/3.
8. EA App should be offline while you playing.

Thanks for the steps here I hope these help others. Will pass them along as steps that have helped. 👍

Bear in mind with this
fixworkaround that you need to keep EA App Offline at all times, not just while you are playing, otherwise it will still overwrite the local file again and you will lose all progress in the achievements. I tried the EA App offline and deleting profiles workaround, but doing so completely wiped all in-game achievements, and I'm towards the end of ME2. Is there a way for the game to scan my save file to regain those achievements? If not, then this workaround is worse than having all achievements unlocked for me.
Any updates? I'm really upset that dozens of hours of progression aren't tracked on my steam profile. such a shame. Recently bought it and this ruined my experience.

I log back in every time I restart my computer, then immediately log out. This works for me.

no, unfortunately, you have to go back and redo those achievements. I feel your pain!

I don't actually use this solution, I use the ea app offline workaround, but I thought I would share.
Just tried that EA App bypass method above. While it manages to get rid of that EA App install splash screen, when you try to launch ME from Steam, it just opens up Origin with a note saying: "The Origin store is currently disabled because it was launched from another application. Restart Origin to access the store". And if you exit out of Steam and launch the game from just Origin, it just reopens Steam and then it shows the prompt to install EA App again....
What a mess this is. I don't understand why EA keeps trying to shove this garbage launcher down our throats and not allowing Origin workarounds, when it's now clear it's EA App that's breaking their games.
UPDATE!: This method worked to prevent Steam from trying to install EA App after prior Origin workaround: https://youtu.be/X67bkhY1WiY
Update 2!: "F EA App" method really works! Tested with my save file prior to Legion's loyalty mission. This time 'A House Divided' finally came through! As soon as I completed the mission, I heard the new Steam achievement sound, but no pop-up notification in the corner. I then checked Shepard's cabin, but it was still grayed out in-game. I closed the game, then checked Steam, saw that the new achievement was showing under Post-Game Summary for Today, went back in-game and finally saw 'A House Divided' unlocked in Shepard's cabin as well! F'n finally! Now to try and figure out how to unlock Paramour II...

Thanks man I'll give it a try! I'm really hoping it'll work on steam deck too!!!!! I'll update later today with what I find out.
Thank you for leading me towards the solution in the first place! Hope it works for you as well!

You're welcome!!! If only it worked for steam-deck...
It took some spelunking to get it installed and all... and then it didn't work....... ugh

Hey Everyone.
I wanted to post some info on this issue from the team. When you get a chance, please try the following:
- Delete your GamerProfile (ME1/2/3) or Local_Profile (ME3 if you played it) from C:\Users\<userName>\Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save (or the standard version) before starting the game to have in-game achievements no longer unlocked
Also, some of the achievements will be only unlocked by doing a new play-through of that game. If you import your save file, you may need to try with and without one as there is no guarantee that it will work when you import the save.
isn't there any risks for doing that? like losing your entire saves?
You can delete the specific Profile files without touching your save games.
You also can Back Up the "save" folder before you delete the Profile files, just make sure you don't copy the "GamerProfile" or "Local_Profile" files back if you need the back up.

@MarioaraMuieresc This right here!
I did not receive any of my achievements for ME2 with this method. So I have to play all the game again in order to do the achievements again. Thanks for the """fix""" Shepard, but EA is selling a product for months without the care to fix the product so it becomes functional. I really wish I could have a fix so I can get my achievements displayed on the profile, without having to replay the game. You know, the way it was supposed to work.

@MarioaraMuieresc I am sorry to hear that the steps had not worked. I will let the team know. @MarioaraMuieresc Look at my post here and try it. Worked for me: Solved: Re: ME2 achievements already unlocked? - Page 22 - Answer HQ
This kept my current progress while re-activating achievements.
You provided a better fix than EA ever could, thank you! Now achievements pop with the actually functioning Origin client.
- @N7NYj I still don't have my old acheivements but at least this works for a 2nd playthrough in mind. Still very disappointed on EA.
@MarioaraMuieresc I didn't delete any game profiles, like was suggested by the CMs (which I don't suggest anyone do, since that would remove your prior achievements). I just installed the Origin workaround, do the EA App removal patch, then I suppose Origin synced my prior achievements. I had about a year's gap between my last playthrough, and all my prior achievements showed up.
oh wow, if I haven't deleted them by the suggestion of the CM I would have my achievements with this method. I'm so upset that this was suggested to me now by the CM lol
Any chance you can send me the fix you used dude? I’m pretty deep into the game at over 50 hours on the highest difficulty and would rather not restart, just to confirm your method activated all prior achievements ? And does it work for ME2 and ME3?
@dec_the_black See here, note the updates:
Activated all my prior achievements on ME2 and also working perfectly on ME3 right now.
