Re: ME:A "Building Shaders" x10. They just keep building and building and building..

I've got that switched on in my driver settings on the latest driver and it still does the shader count on occasions that last longer than usual.

  • You can clean the Shader Cache ...

Disable Shader Cache globally in Nvidia Control Panel, reboot, and delete the Shader Cache folders from both %TEMP% and C:\Windows\Temp. Then re-enable Shader Cache and reboot again.

reviving this old thread because tonight i actually had this problem come back... cleaning the shader cache worked again, first time.

It was taking over a minute or two to get into a game and at the end of a game, and after 3 games like that i'd lost my patience with it.

    So i did the following:

    launched nvidia control panel

    clicked 'manage 3d settings'

changed 'Shader Cache Setting to 'Off'

    clicked Apply

    *REBOOTED PC*

located and deleted: C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Temp\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache folder & its contents

located and deleted C:\Windows\temp\NV_Cache folder and its contents

    launched nvidia control panel

    clicked 'manage 3d settings'

changed 'Shader Cache Setting to 'ON'

    clicked Apply

    *REBOOTED PC*

Tested ME:A in multiplayer, and the building shaders zipped past like never before.

    *** CURED ***

Posting this here in case anyone else has just hit this issue on pc.. and perhaps wants a fix that seems to work.

  • This worked for me. The folders did not exist but running bleach bit and cleaning temp data did the trick. Thanks much!
