- @Hawkspian_II I'm the third poster in this thread back in 2017 and replaying this game as a continuation from the ME: Legendary Edition, I got it again on Voeld. Sigh...
Still don't know how to avoid it 100%. The accepted answer suggests to only follow on foot. Well, I entered the Nomad to follow the lil' * on Eos and the fight went fine. I initially accepted that answer as it appeared to fix the issue for me in that playthrough from what I have found there seems to be several different factors involved that can cause this bug, doing excessive damage has caused it, using special ammo, using the nomad, using anti shield weapons/ammo, using psi abilities and there are without a doubt many more triggers I have not found
the best solutions i have found is reloading the save, keep the nomad away from the battle areas and leaving the area/planet then doing another activity i.e. side quest/fire team deployment or visiting a vendor/shop even then they are not guaranteed to work it usually comes down to luck
I even went as far as to get a trainer for the pc version and activated one hit kill and even that could not bypass this glitch i am afraid it will continue to hinder us forevermore
