Hi,
I'm afraid it did not. However, all it seemed to do was to trigger the Steam "verify integrity of cache" utility. My copy of ME LE *is* a Steam purchase, so perhaps there's not much the Origin console is able to repair?
I'm essentially resigned to the fact that that particular save is hopelessly compromised, but, I would still like to know how something like this (persistent graphical glitches and a endless gameplay loop) could persist across several clean installs and repairs, if for nothing else to make sure the next playthrough I try doesn't run into this.
Thank you very much for replying (and apologies for my own delay in trying the solution--work during the week).
I am not sure that this is a problem with the save game, the only way to make sure is to use a other, much earlier save game or start from scratch.
This could be a hardware problem as well.
I encountered the same issue (minus the disappearing elevator). It was seemingly resolved after I ran a fix through origin (don't know if that's possible in steam), and made sure my mods were up to date (had to update the extended galaxy and audeamus' happy ending ones) and then the meeting with specialist Traynor occurred immediately after speaking with Liara, following the dream.
Don't know what helped, but my game is now no longer stuck, so I'm happy.
