Re: Seven Years Ago, The Andromeda Galaxy Was Rescued!
The biggest issues I think people had were created by Bioware trying to compete with the ME1-3 trilogy and NOT just making a good first game in a new series. The first game needed to be a setup for the new galaxy, and personally I think it should have been the Nexus arriving and colonizing one planet and maybe the rebellion and seeing them gone to Kadara with meeting the Angara there. That's it, set up the game, introduce the characters in leadership, introduce some of the planets, ships, and get ready for Andromeda 2 with Ryders then....
For a triple A game it was disappointing with the facial expressions, shoulders of characters, walking actions, and a whole host of graphics downgrades from an early release.
Gameplay wise, well, the limit to 3 skills was a downgrade from earlier games either due to MP or more likely due to the choice to not have character classes and thus limiting the power of a player by limiting the usable skills at a time.
Time and again, I just see the Devs trying to do too much on a first game in a series about a new galaxy....too many new characters, too many love interests, too many new places, too much new lore all thrown at people at once BECAUSE the game MUST BE BIGGER THAN OE ME series....
