Re: Why do doors in Kadara Port take so long to open?

I highly doubt its a loading screen, as there is no disc accessing while activating the doors. Aya has way more NPC's on foot and doesn't take that long to open. My guess its simply because someone put the timer wrong on the doors.

I think they really baked in a lot of other things. The outside of Kadara Port does have that entire mountain if you look the right directions and down. I think one of the teams pushed the graphical envelope as hard as they could for the minimum specs and that require partitioning off sections that 'load' (not necessarily from disk) the areas lights, tints, shaders etc.

Could be that yeah. Overall Kadara Port is a bit of a weird place. You have this issue with the doors, there is the elevator to the slums and then the rest of the planet which are all oddly sectioned off. You don't get to land on your settlement at the end and it has the planet that has the most hold moments on the quest chain for settling the planet.

It just gets annoying that after you land, you need to go through a slow door to acces the elevator which loads you to the slums. That little are in between just seems an annoyance that could've been left out.

I get the feeling Kadara port was built early on and retro-fit to the rest the of the game. The slums>world zone feels like it was the main focus for Kadara and the port was just slapped on at the end.
