I won't speak for anyone else, but I hardly think I'm 'crying' over it.
I would classify my stance more as 'mildly annoyed' then anything else. I don't mind them fixing the exploits, that's what they're supposed to do, but I do agree with the OP that not fixing the issue with research points was short sided at best.
as a rule if there are exploits, i don't use them, i'm all about immersion... and well, exploits kind of ruin it for me. however, i hold no ire for those that do, it's just a matter of taste, imho.
