Save file crashes ME2

I've got a pretty valuable save file of my main Shepard that causes ME2 to crash whenever I place it in the [C:/Users/Me/My Documents/BioWare/Mass Effect 2/Save] folder.  I can get to the title screen with the "press any key to continue" prompt, but pressing anything immediately causes a crash.  Is this because my save is corrupted?  None of my other saves cause this issue, and everything else seems to be fine with the game.  Can anybody give me a clue?  I would attach a copy of the save file for somebody to look at, but I'm unsure if I can on this forum.
