save game import

    Origin does have a cloud save option.  I think it is disabled by default, but you can double check.

    Personally, I hate cloud saves.  They confuse me.  I keep my local saves backed up in a few locations, and when the cloud "helps" I do not know when it pulls or pushes data, or what versions of the data that would be.

    I also save a lot of copies, you have a limit of 100 or so save slots per profile.  They add up and become significantly larger than average profile pictures.  Origin gives you 500 MB, and Mass Effect 3 leaves a lot of space for other games.

The default location for the saved games is in your User Documents directory in a folder called Bioware.

I highly recommend creating a new ME2 game, get as far as necessary to make a new save, then look at the new files.

Mimic that file directory/structure and make a copy from your D:\games directory into that format.

From there, the importers will look in the default directories and I know of no way to tell it to look in User Specified locations.

After adding your completed games to C:\Users\Documents\Bioware\Save ME3 should be able to import them as expected.

Problem is that d:\games\me2 -directory doesnt have the save games in it. Just the old installation which I couldn't even start without downloading the 11 gig thing again.

So my saves were GONE when my Windows was wiped.

I dont see the point of Origin-system if it wont even store a savegame that takes less space than your average profile picture.

I would definately add cloud save game storage space as a number one priority to development list. Especially in game serieses such as Dragon Age and Mass Effect where the game is supposed to carry over to next title.

This is an inexcusable design flaw in the system. There are some good examples out there and there's no shame in learning from them. I want seamless save game hosting from computer to another.
