Saved levels lost!!!

Hi ME fans. I've been playing ME3(PC) for some time now and am on level 42. As I started the game today, horror - in the menu (New Game,Multiplayer,Downloads etc) the choice to continue is missing!?!?!?!?  WHAT?!?!  What's happened here?  Cloud data synchronized ok, server connected ok and then this - a menu without the choice to 'continue'.  I've no idea what's caused this, I started the game in the same way I've always done and have made no changes since the initial installation.  Has anybody got a tip what might have happened and how to get it back?  I'll scream if I have to start all over again!!!!!😕mileymad:

  • Hi guys.  OK, I was away for a while but I'm back on line again.  Thanks for your support.  While I was away, I got a tip from an acquaintance that went so: Click on 'My Games' then with the right mouse button, select  'Show Details'. Next, 'Cloud Save' and then 'Gamestand Restore'  I just tried that, Cloud resync'd itself  and.......BINGO!!!  Everything was back in place and I could continue where I left off.  Super!!!

These commands, by the way, are my translations 'cause I'm running a German version but I think they're understandable.

Try checking the "My Documents/bioware/Mass Effect 3/save" folder to see if there's anything there. That's where the saves are stored, so if there's nothing there, then they somehow got deleted.

  • Hi xzkagezx. Thanks for answering.  Yeah, I've got some save data there, though the the last one is dated the 26.11 and I last saved on 29.11  Still, if can use them, I don't care, anything's better than starting all over again!  Do you know how it works?  😕mileyembarrassed:

Okay, copy the "My Documents/bioware/Mass Effect 3/save" folder to your desktop, then delete the one that's in My Documents.

restart ME3, it should Sync with cloud Data.  check to see if the problem has been resolved. (if it has, feel free to delete the save games folder from your desktop)

If it did NOT fix the issue, go into the saves folder on your desktop, go into the campaign folder (should be named something along the lines of "Rei_22_Vanguard_091112_22ac77e") Copy one of the saves, paste it in and rename it to Save_0999.pcsav (or some other number that isn't in use).

Then copy it back into the My Documents/bioware/Mass Effect 3 folder (to be safe, still keep a copy of it on the desktop as well)

Restart ME3 and it should bring up a popup saying "cloud save conflict"

Choose the "Use Local Data" option, and that should fix it.

In the event that this does not correct the issue, try reinstalling ME3

Last savegame might have become corrupted, therefore the game does not show CONTINUE because it cannot load that save.

If there is a LOAD GAME button you can use that one.

If there is not, you can make it appear by creating a second shepard, then try to switch back to your first one in the LOAD GAME menu.

    Another option:

Go to "My Documents/bioware/Mass Effect 3/save" and find your Shepards folder there move it to somewhere else, move Local_Profile.sav to somewhere else and then start the game create the same Shepard again.

Save once and quit the game then move/copy the files out of your first shepards folder into the new ones folder, then try LOAD GAME.

If neither works your savegames might have become corrupted.
