My main issue with it is how there are times that things highlight to scan (solid orange/orange red?) and it doesn't do anything. By do anything, I mean it doesn't give you any research points nor is it to advance a mission.
So why have it highlight?
Now some of you might go, "Well Pretzle, sometimes you just want to know what something is man!"
And to that I would respond with, how are you? Thank you for stopping by. And then I would say no I don't just want to know what something is and point out that when this sort of thing happens, it's commonly with an object that you've scanned before elsewhere.
So say we're talking those solar lamps on Voeld. I imagine the first time you scan one, they give research but after that, they don't so why make them solid colored?
Other things handle this properly. If I scanned an Adhi before, the next time I raise a scanner to one anywhere, it isn't solid. It just tells me what it is.
Yes, it is a minor thing. Yes, I'm grumpy right now because it's been raining for 3 or 4 days straight where I am, but by the Goddess this can be annoying to me sometimes.
I just did the Cora Loyalty mission and there's all this debris you can scan for no reason.
Thoughts? Feelings? Is everyone enjoying their weekend? Lol
Yeah, those heat lamps are a minor annoyance to scan once you've scanned a hundred or so, not like a Kett generator or similar object that you scan once and they no longer appear with that orange/red glow. I still find myself scanning all those heaters on the off chance that it is something new.
What's really fun is scanning wildlife for the first time. Getting close enough to scan it before your companions shoot it, getting the scan, and then get hit in the face by a giant raptor-like lizard before you can switch to your weapon.
Sun is finally trying to break through the fog this morning (9:30am Portland, ME) after 4 days of rain/wind and fog.
