Show us your Pathfinder!

As far as I know, you cannot change Pathfinder's name in game after you leave character creation screen 😳

That's why I usually spend hours trying to think of a cool name for my character in any game, which lets you create your own hero. Just to eventually end up with a quite common name like... Mary.

Thank you for your answer ! Yeah I usually try to do that as well, the name is such an important part of any invented character. Mary sounds great ! I didn't expect the first name to be chosable in MEA so I hadn't thought about it... I went with "Takeha" for an asian/caucasian chick with an afro haircut, I don't like it too much but I figured it was a name she had invented for herself and made official when she was younger and couldn't change anymore although she finds it a bit silly. Every name besides Scott or Sara have to be considered nicknames anyway if the lore is to be respected, imo.

It's a long history with BioWare's games letting you name your character and me being very cautious about it 😃 I often use fantasy name generators or something similar to find interesting names for my heroes.

Thankfully, BioWare's always been quite smart about it, so all the NPCs are using different titles or surnames to refer to the main protagonist, like Shepard or Inquisitor. Even if they "officially" called the twins Sara and Scott, it's not really canon in my opinion 😉

Thanks for the validation ❤️ The fantasy name generator is such a great idea !  I usually choose by instinct, just like the appearance, whatever sounds/looks right at this very moment where I imagine my character in action. Otherwise if I tried to plan ahead I'd probably had trouble starting a playthrough haha.

You're very right, except it's different here, since if you keep the default first name your allies will use it, which can change the dynamic of relationships... Not to mention the fact that if you invent your name, you'll be called Ryder or Pathfinder by everyone but your twin will very much keep their first name, which just feels weird. I hope my brother never wakes up or else this could lead to a super arkward conversation, with me going for Scott this, Scott that and he keeping a formal tone, adressing his own sister by her last name...

(This game has too much family stuff imo compared to the OT, daddy was bland as hell but took up unnecessary space in the story's beginning, hopefully the twin stays on the side.)

Out of curiosity, is there any way I could take a look at your Mary Ryder ? I'm super curious 🙂

Haha, I guess there will always be a few awkward conversations, because NPCs cannot use the name you actually chose.

I remember all those "ummm" moments, whenever a love interest was very formal towards my character during quite private moments (I look at you, Garrus) 😮

I don't know what graphics card you have, but if it's Nvidia and you use Nvidia Geforce Experience, you can easily take screenshot by using ShadowPlay 🙂
