With the EA Launcher, none of the achievements for ME2 and ME3 work in steam anymore. I've attempted a few of the workarounds I've seen online, but none have worked for me. It seems like a pretty universal issue ever since origin stopped being used.
It indeed is a big problem. The main cause people seem to have found digging in the data is that the new EA app FORCEFULLY downloads a completed gamerprofile where all archivments are already unlocked and completed. This basically means the game thinks you already have them all unlocked. Therefor you wont ever unlock any new archievements.
The only way to even remotely get around this is to do some weird workarounds where you either prevent the EA app from downloading completed gamerprofile files. Or you prevent using EA app at all. All requiring weird shady workarounds where you either download old origin installers from unofficial sources. Or mess with windows firewall etc...
You would think the solution is simple. That they could just stop EA app from downloading completed gamerprofiles. As this seems to be the obvious problem. But EA dont seem to bother fix it. It has been a known problem for 3 years. Since EA APP Beta started. But nothing seems to be done to something that appears as a really really simple problem that is solely tied to EA app as origin did not have this problem at all and worked just fine up until the point EA app was forced. It was more important to force people into EA app than it is to prevent EA app from doing weird stuff that break peoples games and savegames...
