Similar issue. Can't take a plant sample. Old man quest hasn't showed up in my quest log despite having talked to him. This is one of at least four bugged quests for me preventing 100% completion. Playing on Xbox one.
I'm also seeing this. This is unrelated to the crash bug introduced in 1.06, but this task and Voeld's bugged "White Death" task are keeping me from 100% completion.
Yeah, same problem, but it clearly isn't getting patched, just like a million other issues in the game. I haven't seen this many quest and gameplay-breaking bugs since Skyrim release. Except Skyrim got 15 official patches and had full modding support.
Since they broke the area around the SOS quest I thought they had done something in there, then the patch came out to fix the freezing in that area, but the Herbal Entrepreneurs continues the same for me since day 1, can't pick a sample to give to the guy tending the sick one, only scan it, then Ryder says it could help the sick guy and that's all, quest completes with just the check mark on the "bring the UV light to the herbal entrepreneurs". I don't know what they did that broke the area around that place, but for me definately wasn't something that fixed this quest. I'm on PC in case it matters.
