The game freezes completely on Normandy. Sound issues.

I have a serious problem with Mass Effect 2. The thing is that while I'm walking around Normandy, all the sound in the game disappears (or starts to glitch wildly), and a couple of seconds after that, the game freezes completely. This happens exclusively on Normandy, missions are completed stably. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

If you are on a PC try to repair the game.

(Origin: Game Library > Right-click the game cover > Repair)
(EA app: My Collection > Click on the three dots on the game cover > Repair)
(Steam: Game Library > Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)

  • Hello. I have already tried to restore the game files. Moreover, I have already tried to update all the drivers of my computer. This is very strange, because (as I wrote above) in missions everything works stably.

Try it again and in EA app as well if you have the option.

If that don't works, create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply. You can do that with the "Choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.

But I will not be back until tomorrow.

    Do you use mods?

    1. Hit Windows key and X.
    2. Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” or "Windows Terminal (Administrator)", whichever option is offered.
    3. Inside PowerShell, CMD or Terminal enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
    4. If errors are found, notify us. If no errors were found reaped steps 1 & 2.
    5. Inside PowerShell, CMD or Terminal enter “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes. > ENTER.
    6. The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here.
    7. After it reaches 100% reaped steps 1 & 2
    8. Inside PowerShell, CMD or Terminal enter “sfc /scannow” without quotes > ENTER.
    10. Post the message you receive at the end of the processes here.

  • Hello again, when I enter the command "DISM.exe /Online / Cleanup-image / Checkhealth" I get error 87. I'll try to move forward according to your guide.

There is a space to much in your command here, just copy and past the command:

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth
